Participating on institutional research financed by the Czech Grant Agency (Integration of the Financial Sector of the New European Union Member Countries into the EMU, 2005-2007). In 2002 - 2009: Visiting staff at the University of Twente + University of Groningen (both in The Netherlands), Roskilde University (Denmark), and Lessius Hogeschool, Antwerps (Belgium).

Before my academic career I worked for 10 years in finance and treasury in various senior positions with major corporations in the Czech Republic, such as Dalkia/Vivendi (multinational water supply and utility company) as Head of Finance and Treasury, and Electrolux (Lux), as Vice President, Finance, for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

International Student Exchange Program (Internship organized by the University of Victoria, Canada):

1992-1993    BC Hydro - PSI, Vancouver, B.C., Canada - Researcher

Responsible for data acquisition, translation, analysis and synthesis for a major project on the electric power industry in the Russian Federation. Mathematical models developed to estimate budgets, load changes, and the potential for energy savings. Economic opportunities analysed and prioritised action plan developed.
